That's why Hades is such a bad parent and why his actions don't make sense. It's clear that Hades and Thanatos aren't actually meant to have their dynamic taken seriously. The point of Hades and Thanatos Father-Son relationship was to try and refute critisim about Persephone's special treatment by making Hades go "But you're a hypocrite!!!!1!1!1!". It's worth noting the reason why Hades and Zeus have these dynamics with Thanatos and Dionysus respectively. While these situations directly parallel each other, their purposes are different. That's why it boggles my mind why RS is demonizing Zeus for doing the right thing. Hades could have given Thanatos to someone else and he wouldn't be at fault for that, but he chose not to. Unlike Hades situation, Zeus couldn't have just given the womb to someone else since the kid was about to die. a new born baby doesn't need to be added into that dumpster fire.

Zeus knew he wasn't emotionally prepared to handle a child + his family life is a mess! He already didn't get along well with his sons + most recent scenes with his family are scenes of disrespect.

Had an unwanted child due to circumstances.Hades' situation is more literal in this matter since Zeus chose to put Dionysus in his leg (as opposed to letting the kid die).Īnyways, here's the break down of their actions. Zeus and Hades both got a child dumped on them unexpectedly to a certain degree. One thing I noticed right away was how Zeus and Hades parallel each other. This post talks about Hades-Than and Zeus-Dio with an in universe and out of universe lens.
